San Francisco-Marin Food Bank

Who We Are

The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community since 1987. Our mission is to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin, where one in four residents is at risk of hunger. We work with a network of over 450 community partners to distribute food to those in need.

What We Do

Our organization collects and distributes food to those in need through our network of community partners, which includes food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers, and schools. We also provide nutrition education and advocacy to help address the root causes of hunger.

Impact

In 2020, we distributed over 70 million pounds of food, which equates to over 60 million meals. Our efforts have helped to feed over 140,000 people each week. We also provide nutrition education and advocacy to help address the root causes of hunger.

Giving

We rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations to fund our programs and services. Donations can be made online, by mail, or by phone. We also accept donations of food and volunteer time.

Grants

We offer grants to community partners who are working to address hunger in their communities. These grants can be used for food purchases, equipment, and other needs.

Research

We conduct research on hunger and food insecurity in San Francisco and Marin to better understand the needs of our community and to inform our programs and services.

Programs & Services

In addition to our food distribution efforts, we offer a variety of programs and services to help address the root causes of hunger. These include nutrition education, advocacy, and outreach.
