Three Square Food Bank is Southern Nevada's only food bank and its largest hunger-relief organization. It covers Clark County, which contains Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas and about 2.3 million people, plus the rural counties of Lincoln, Esmeralda, and Nye. It distributed more than 40 million pounds of food in 2023 and has provided over 550 million pounds since opening in 2007. Beth Martino became President and CEO in June 2023, arriving from the Maryland Food Bank, where she had been CEO.
Three Square sources food at scale and distributes it across Southern Nevada through partner agencies and its own programs, including a community kitchen and strong child-focused initiatives. As the only food bank for the region, the pantries, shelters, and meal programs of Las Vegas and the surrounding counties depend on it. Its name comes from the goal of three square meals a day for everyone in the community.
Beth Martino became President and CEO in June 2023, bringing 20 years of leadership across food banking, public affairs, and health care. She had previously served as CEO of the Maryland Food Bank, and most recently as a vice president at the American Health Care Association. She leads an organization widely regarded as one of the more efficient and effective food banks in the country.
The service area is Southern Nevada: Clark County, home to Las Vegas and about 2.3 million people, plus the rural counties of Lincoln, Esmeralda, and Nye. Las Vegas's economy runs on tourism and service work, jobs that can vanish in a downturn, which makes the region prone to sudden spikes in food insecurity on top of its steady baseline of need.
