The Anti-Cruelty Society

Who We Are

The Anti-Cruelty Society is a nonprofit organization that has been serving animals and people since 1899. We are committed to preventing cruelty to animals and providing compassionate care and resources to pets and their owners. Our mission is to build a community of caring by helping pets and educating people.

What We Do

We offer a range of services to help animals and their owners, including adoption, veterinary care, behavior training, and humane education. Our adoption center is one of the largest in the country, with hundreds of dogs, cats, and other animals available for adoption. We also provide low-cost veterinary care to pets in need, including spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and dental cleanings.

In addition to our direct services, we work to prevent cruelty to animals through advocacy and outreach. We partner with law enforcement agencies to investigate cases of animal abuse and neglect, and we educate the public about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare issues.

Impact

Since our founding, we have helped thousands of animals find loving homes and provided care and resources to countless others. Our work has had a significant impact on the community, reducing the number of homeless pets and improving the lives of animals and their owners.

Giving

As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the generosity of donors to support our work. There are many ways to give, including making a one-time or recurring donation, sponsoring an animal, or leaving a legacy gift. Every donation helps us provide care and resources to animals in need.

Grants

We also offer grants to organizations that share our mission of preventing cruelty to animals and promoting animal welfare. Our grant program supports a variety of initiatives, including spay/neuter programs, humane education, and animal rescue efforts.
