Who We Are
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community for over 100 years. Our mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. We believe that every child has the potential to succeed and thrive in life, and we work tirelessly to make that a reality.
What We Do
Our program matches children between the ages of 6 and 18 with caring adult mentors who serve as positive role models and friends. We carefully screen and train our volunteers to ensure that they are equipped to provide the support and guidance that our youth need. Our matches participate in a variety of activities together, from playing sports and doing crafts to going to museums and attending concerts.
Impact
Our program has a proven track record of success. Children who participate in our program are more likely to graduate from high school, go on to college, and become productive members of society. They also report higher levels of self-esteem, confidence, and overall life satisfaction. Our mentors play a critical role in helping these children achieve their full potential.
