Where to Donate Bras: Organizations That Donate and Recycle Old Bras
Feeling helpless was new to me and like any man, I wanted to make all their pain go away. From the ashes of despair came the idea for Donate Your Bra for a Cause, a 501 nonprofit charity that seeks to reshape breast cancer survivors’ lives one bra at a time. - While underwear is often more readily available, most of the women experiencing homelessness may only have one bra that they continue to wear for well over a year.
- I came across your website and was happy to see there was a place I could donate them so someone else might be able to use and enjoy them.
- Most of the groups we send to also provide their community with educational and emotional services, breaking down the stigma and myths of a breast cancer diagnosis.
- Swim breast prostheses are made of clear, water-resistant silicone.
- We provide sports bras, mastectomy bras, prosthesis, wigs and negligees to breast cancer survivors.

Even though the majority of textiles can be recycled, 85% still wind up in landfills. Bras can be trickier to recycle, as they’re typically made up of 30 individual pieces and a mix of materials, like foam and metal. The B.R.A Recycling Agency specializes in recycling bras, ensuring those materials get recycled instead of getting trapped in a landfill where they can take hundreds of years to break down.
