How To Donate Halloween Candy To Soldiers Overseas CBS Boston
A Halloween Candy collection program with local businesses. Generally, dental offices, agree to accept excess Halloween candy from kids in exchange for goodies. This program encourages people to send in candies, goodies, cards, and more to military members overseas. These care packages help brighten troops’ days and remind them how appreciative civilians are for their sacrifice. Support Our Troops also serves our furry military members.
You can find a dentist who participates on the Halloween Candy Buyback website. To find a participating buyback in your area, use the ZIP code search at the top of the page to find an event close by. Contact the participant to find out the date, time, and details of their event.
How can I send candy to troops overseas?
After Easter, Halloween and even Valentine’s Day we also have bags full of extra candy. I recently wrote about things you can do with Leftover Candy. One of my favorite things to do is to donate candy to location charities. We’ve found seven charitable organizations where you can donate Halloween candy—or any unopened candy.
- In Springboro, dentist Jody Wright of Wright Smiles Dentistry bought back candy for $1 a pound.
- Our annual collection campaigns offer a fun way volunteers of all ages can participate.
- You can participate in K-9 Soldier Treats to provide over 2,000 military doggies with the supplies and great care they deserve.
- Even if you plan to skip it, there are still ways you can participate.
Operation Shoebox believes that the often unseen heroes of American freedom deserve constant reminders that they haven’t been forgotten. The charity was started by a mother who had five children and two son-in-laws deployed overseas. There’s no doubt that the care packages Operation Shoebox mails to troops everywhere help give them a boost during unbelievably trying times. Through the Soldiers’ Angels Treats for Troops Halloween Candy drive, businesses can register to serve as a collection site for this program. Not only will you be serving the community by removing excess candy from the mouths of children, but also serving our service members, wounded heroes, and veterans.
Donate Halloween candy 2021
Operation Shoebox has delivered over one million care packages to troops overseas since its start in 2003. The organization accepts monetary donations as well as leftover holiday candy from Easter, Halloween, Christmas, and more to send to people in the military. The organization also helps homeless veterans, donates shoes before winter, and distributes food to those in need—among many other inspiring programs. Soldiers’ Angels Treats for Troops is a Halloween Candy collection program where local businesses accept excess Halloween candy from kids in exchange for goodies. Once collected, businesses ship the candy to Soldiers’ Angels. We will get the collected candy to deployed service members and veterans.

Soldiers’ Angels volunteers work within VA Hospitals across the country to provide comfort and resources to veteran patients. Soldiers‘ Angels offers many ways for you to make a difference in the lives of our military service people and their families. They are located in Florida and you can ship your candy to them.
You can also compost or donate your pumpkin to a community garden. We are paid by our participating communities, therefore our service is offered at no charge to families. Kids might think there’s no such thing as too many sweets, but as a parent, you know that sometimes, that bag full of sugar might be too much for your little one.
