Zindagi Trust Providing quality education to under-privileged to Pakistani Children

Donate to transform lives by reforming government schools. This program builds the capacity of government school teachers through trainings, workshops, on-ground support, planning and continuous monitoring and evaluation. All orphans sponsored by the scheme are individually selected by the Management of NZWT. A child’s age, family size and living conditions are also looked at to assess need. We enhance the lives of child through education in schools. Please note that donations to Zindagi Trust in Canada are not yet tax deductible.

Sports keep children active and also promote alertness, collaboration, self-esteem, and perseverance. Each of our schools features weekly sports classes for all students, with specialized coaching in football/futsal, cricket, volleyball, taekwondo, and athletics. Students on the school teams also get extra-coaching after school and regularly participate in inter-school competitions where they learn how to interact with students from a variety of backgrounds. Sports promote physical fitness, alertness and better concentration, collaboration, self-esteem, and perseverance in children. Each of our schools features weekly sports classes for all students. There are many athletes, artists, and geniuses hiding undiscovered in our government schools.

The organization strives to effect public school reform as opposed to creating alternative systems that will always struggle to reach the masses. The art program is a key component of the holistic education that brims life to our schools at Zindagi Trust. Hence, consistent efforts are made to ensure the program continues to provide value and… We have established a Teacher Professional Development team at each of our schools to invest in the capacity of the existing government teacher.

We bring a diverse array of holistic education to our schools – sports, art, chess, life skills, guest talks and summer camps. Support us to enrich the government school experience for these young children so that they can reach their full potential and transform their lives. When I started Zindagi Trust I had a vision to improve the lives of children across Pakistan. We have evolved as an organisation over the years, starting from educating working children to turning around government schools to now focusing on reforming the education system. I am proud of the change we have been able to bring about, both in creating models that give a reason to believe and in achieving gains in school governance or child protection through our advocacy. I hope and pray and work every day to make sure we continue to adapt to best serve our children.

Donors based in Canada requiring tax credits can donate through IDRF, a top 100 Canadian charity, which accepts donations online on our behalf and are a registered charity able to provide tax receipts. Please note that to make a donation via this method you must check the option to "Make this gift on behalf of an organization" and write in Zindagi Trust as the designated charity. Zindagi Trust embodies a unique philosophy in the context of Pakistan’s education sector.

Our work involves pilot projects of school reform at government schools and advocacy based on our best practices to change education policy. Zindagi Trust is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that strives to improve the quality of education available to the average Pakistani. Our areas of work include reforming public schools, educating working children and lobbying the government to improve education policy. A holistic school education can truly transform an individual’s life. Zindagi Trust is certified as Shariah compliant in its management of zakat – our school management teams determine zakat eligibility of students based on a thorough training after which cases are vetted by our Shariah advisor.

Unspecified donations are allocated to other projects in need. Based on the urgency and need we prioritize project or programs that need specified support, these you will find under the section ‘In Cash’. Projects with specific needs, demands and urgency are each explained in detail and please do contact us if further clarification is needed.
