Donate Where to donate your bike We have bike drop off points nationwide.

  • We accept department store kids’ bikes, but most budget adult bikes from department stores are problematic because replacement parts are hard to find.
  • If you need a tow truck in Fawn Creek, KS, then give us a call.
  • The most popular species caught here are Largemouth bass, Bluegill, and Brown trout.
  • We donate 800+ bikes a year to those in need through partner nonprofits in the local community.
  • You can get a tax deduction for donating items to reputable nonprofit charity organizations.

Donated bikes may be used as teaching tools in our youth or adult programs and then donated through a partner organization to someone in need of a bike. Bikes may be made available for the youth in our Earn-A-Bike program to earn. And bikes may be refurbished by staff or volunteers and sold in our community bike shop, with the sales revenue generated in this way funding our programming.

How Do I Donate a bike/parts?

At Bikes4Kids, bikes are donated to us from local bike shops, recycling centers, city governments and individuals. We then refurbish these bikes and give them away, along with a helmet and lock, to someone who might not otherwise be able to afford one. We work through social services organizations to locate families in Minnesota who are in need. If your organization would like to make a shipment of bikes to a less developed region, but don’t know of a recipient, let us know and we will use our network to help you find one. We have also posted information from organizations requesting bikes.

The addresses for our locations can be found below and you can call us ahead of time to ensure someone will be there when you arrive. Some of the bikes we get can be repaired and re-used. Others are stripped of their working / salvageable parts and are used on other bikes. We’ll come to your property and remove your bikes free of charge. If you are a charity or organization that would be interested in benefiting from our service, we are always glad to try and help any way we can.

How much should I pay for a used bike?

We invest in the tools, space, and people to create the best environment for that to happen. The Bicycle Exchange will gladly accept most bikes and refurbish them to benefit those in need of transportation. And details on what you’d like to donate, and if we have a need , we’ll let you know when you can drop off your items.

They’re the second and fourth Saturdays, on a smaller scale. See our Eventbrite site at bikex.eventbrite.comfor details and to RSVP. Grab your spot and join in on the wrenching for good!
