Friends of the Los Altos Library, opens a new window – Donations are accepted on Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m., and on Saturdays from noon. SCCLD library cards are valid at all of theSCCLD library locations,Bookmobile, as well as theOnline Library 24/7. The Friends stock over 1,000 books on the sales shelves in the Main Library. You can find recently published books for all ages on the shelves in the Main Library across from the circulation desk. A smaller collection is maintained in the Woodland branch .

Our passport service facilities are able to issue first passports, replacements, renewals that expired more than 15 years ago or passports issued before the holder was 16 years old. For a full list of services and to book an appointment, visit sccld.org/passport. If you are a digital user and live within Santa Clara County, you canapply for an eCardfrom the website. If approved, the eCard gives you instant access to the entire online library but you will need a full use card to check out physical items.

Passport services are available at Cupertino, Los Altos and Milpitas Libraries. After reviewing theProgram Policy, please fill outthis applicationto propose that the library sponsor an event that you offer, to be held at the library. Due to the high volume of program applications we receive, we may only contact you if we may be interested in partnering with you on a future program/event.

Saratoga Library – Donations are currently accepted at the Saratoga Library in limited quantities.Donations are limited to 2 banker size boxes or 4 grocery bags per person. We are excited to announce the release of new, unique library card designs. The three fun designs aim to inspire patrons toCreate,Dream, andDiscoverunlimited possibilities, all of which can happen with a free SCCLD library card. These one-of-a-kind library card designs include a lightbulb, cloud and magnifying glass on the front where patrons can draw or write to personalize their card.   • Our book sales are very popular with the community as well as with professional used book dealers.
  • FOPAL is pausing donations the 2nd week of each month as we prepare for the monthly sale.
  • Book club meets on the last Monday of the month to discuss both fiction and nonfiction books.
  • Computer sessions are three hours maximum at all libraries, except Campbell Express Library that has a one hour maximum.

Limited technology access is available at select San José library locations starting April 5, 2021. Make your check payable toFriends of the Library of Los Altos and Community. BookEnds also work with two local businesses where books can be dropped off though their opening hours above.

You must have a valid SCCLD library card to book a room, as well as read and agree to adhere to any room usage requirements for the room you are booking. To find out more about this service, please refer to our Book a Room @ The Library page. The principal source of income of the Friends of the Library is the sale of donated books. Established in 1998 by an eight-year-old boy who, on a sickday from school, accompanied his mom on a Board of Directors meeting at Hollygrove Children’s Home.

Other than the above, as long as your books are in good condition, they’ll be happy to take them off your hands. Drop off locator to find your local bin to donate book. Please note, most sites are residential and therefore don’t have opening hours. Due to facility maintenance and repairs at Cubberley Community Center we are having to suspend donations for Wednesday July 20 through Friday July 22. We are offering computer and printing services at the Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Milpitas, Morgan Hill, Saratoga and Woodland Libraries on a first come, first served basis.
