Under the “optional contribution” model, the beneficiary, event organiser, corporate or platform may designate that GoFundraise will advise the donor that there is the option to contribute to the running of the platform. Under this option, GoFundraise does not charge a “Traditional/Standard” service fee to the charity or beneficiary. Your support is appreciated to continue to offer this platform fee service. Donated funds are allocated via postcode – whether that be from a direct donation, or when buying merchandise on the Legacy Shop. This is to ensure that your funds will benefit those veterans’ families in your local Clubs’ care. Donated funds are used in a variety of ways to support the unique needs of the families Legacy assists.

Sydney Legacy agreed to make its assets available to other NSW Legacy clubs that wished to utilise the shared services of the proposed company. LCS is registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and holds Deductible Gift Recipient status with the Australian Taxation Office. This enables the Company to raise and invest funds on behalf of the clubs. The clubs remain completely independent with an individual Charter from Legacy Australia and are responsible for their own governance and operations.
There are currently 6 Legacy clubs which utilise all the services of LCS – Armidale, Far North Coast, Lachlan, Newcastle, Sydney and Tamworth. The genesis of LCS comes from a proposal and submission presented by Far North Coast Legacy to a NSW State Conference in 2009. The proposal was considered at the 2013 and 2014 Legacy conferences and involved consolidating club resources into a single service delivery company. The program helps decrease the symptoms of trauma, stress, depression and anxiety and improve resilience, mental health and physical wellbeing of veterans and families. The healing that can come from these horses and this remarkable psychotherapy program can be profound!
