There is a growing body of research which shows that effective DEI practices can promote a more positive organizational culture, which can influence the nonprofit’s ability to achieve impact on the people and communities they serve. Feedback practices have been shown to support better Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion outcomes, an essential area of assessment that we intend to further expand and develop in the future. We prevent homelessness whenever possible, respond to housing crises, and stabilize those facing homelessness with permanent housing. Housing Forward is currently not eligible for a Leadership & Adaptability score because we have not received its L&A survey responses. This policy outlines procedures for handling employee complaints, as well as a confidential way for employees to report financial or other types of mismanagement. This policy establishes guidelines for the handling, backing up, archiving and destruction of documents.

Irvine-based Families Forward has been awarded $65,000 from Capital Group. The funding is a combination of three grants – $30,000 for general operations, a one-time grant of $30,000 for special project support and a $5,000 COVID-relief grant. Operational support for our experienced staff, travel expenses, and overhead costs.

Overall, individuals or families stably housed can focus on meeting their health needs better than those who do not have stable housing. The mission of LA Forward’s Housing Justice team is to ensure that every person in Los Angeles has access to safe, accessible, sustainable, and permanently-affordable housing. While there are many organizations in Los Angeles fighting for specific areas of Housing Justice, we choose to holistically address equitable and affordable housing from a “yes, and,” multi-pronged perspective when fighting for legislation. We focus on solidarity with communities historically impacted by institutionalized racism, segregation, and disinvestment.

While the success of that campaign allowed us to build Bishop’s Manor, the city still needs approximately 15,000 Affordable Housing units to reach the national average. Forward Housing is committed to raising capital to create more affordable housing for those who need it most.
