Computers are accepted for donation at St. Vincent de Paul, with the exception of monochrome monitors. Donate your time to assist the Center with technical issues such as database and web site work. Accounting and Legal assistance will help the Center significantly reduce their operating expenses. Canned goods, non-perishable food items can be accepted at the Food Pantry. Of particular need are Paper goods and personal items such as toiletries which are also distributed by the Food Pantry.

There is great activity throughout the school where classes from Juniors to 6th are taking part in STEM challenges for Maths Week. All classes from Juniors to 6th took part in online lessons from LIT, U.L., Mary I, Regeneron and the Science Federation of Ireland.
Joan visited Ms. Geary’s 3rd class and Ms Kenneally’s 5th class and we thank her so much for giving up her time to give a lesson on cross-making. Our School celebrated St. Brigid’s Day on Tuesday, February 1st. Mr. Tuohy gave a brief history about St. Brigid over the intercom to all classes. She is our only female National Saint and Feb 1st celebrates the arrival of longer days and the early signs of spring. St. Brigid’s Day from this year onwards is a national holiday in Ireland.

Goodwill will pick up your furniture donations as well as gifts of cars or trucks. They are one of the most recognizable charities that pick up donations for free. The Salvation Army helps over 25 million people each year. They can’t take these items because of government regulations on reselling and potential recalls.
Went for a walk around the corner after a nap and it was dark but a ton of street venders and stuff on ground to buy but few lights. Some jerks kept trying to lure me to "girl girl, you want young girl". People in boracaywere awesome, inviting me to theirkid’s birthday party when i walked by their house.
The Mother Teresa Postgraduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences, in Pondicherry, was established in 1999 by the government of Puducherry. A number of tributes by Mother Teresa’s biographer, Navin Chawla, have appeared in Indian newspapers and magazines. Indian Railways introduced the "Mother Express", a new train named after Mother Teresa, on 26 August 2010 to commemorate the centenary of her birth. The Tamil Nadu government organised centenary celebrations honouring Mother Teresa on 4 December 2010 in Chennai, headed by chief minister M Karunanidhi.
As you are aware the Government announced that due to COVID-19 all schools are closed until January 31st. Therefore, remote learning will commence in St. Paul’s School from next Monday, January 11th. We here in St Paul’s School would like to raise awareness of this important day by choosing to challenge our pupils to aim for the moon because even if they miss they will land among the stars.
From October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019, our Recycling Center processed over 2 MILLION pounds of clothing! That’s 2 million pounds of clothing that didn’t go into a local landfill. St. Vincent de Paul locations also accept electronics, such as working VCRs, DVD players, radios, televisions (non-console) and video game systems. Pianos, organs and other gently used musical instruments and equipment are also accepted.
Over 100 nonprofit agencies are members of The Foodbank and provide services through more than 120 feeding programs in the Miami Valley. These stores are independently owned reuse stores that are operated by local Habitat for Humanity organizations. Most Habitat ReStores offer pickup of furniture donations, as well as other large items, such as appliances and building materials. The nonprofit organizations on Donation Town will provide a tax receipt for your generous donations.
We would like to express our gratitude for all who donated to our Fundraiser on Friday, March 4th in support of Ukraine. Some classes even found time to try orienteering around our school grounds. Our teacher, Mr. Tobin, brought in his drone to take fantastic pictures of the school which enabled us to create an orienteering map. Shane Tracy of the FAI was on hand on Thursday to coach all children in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Shane had great energy and developed a great rapport with the children.

St Vincent De Paul provides food for the hungry and assistance with utilities, medicine, rent, household goods and furniture for the needy. Monetary donations are accepted at the Church doors after Masses on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Non-perishable food and staples may be placed in the baskets at the main entrance of the Church. You can do this through ClothingDonations.org, which is a service of Vietnam Veterans of America. It will pickup used clothing and household goods and use them to support programs that address the concerns and needs of all veterans.

And of course, you can also use it to sell used appliances for cash. Vietnam Veterans of America is a national non-profit corporation, which was founded in 1978. You could declutter your home and help veterans in the process by donating your old appliances to Vietnam Veterans of America. Habitat for Humanity has more than a 1,000 discount stores, called Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Some partners, like some utility companies, will provide a financial incentive in return for appliances too. So, if you want to get cash for your old appliances, RAD is a good choice.

Mother of The Century and Mother Teresa are short documentary films, about the life and work of Mother Teresa among the poor of India, directed by Amar Kumar Bhattacharya. They were produced by the Films Division of the Government of India. Although her order was not connected with the Franciscan orders, Mother Teresa admired Francis of Assisi and was influenced by Franciscan spirituality.
The charities and organizations that will pick up your donations will be thrilled. It is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and – most importantly it’s a celebration of reading. Throughout the week classes focus on activities based on books, dressing up as their favourite character, reading to other classes, visiting bookshops and our local library.
World Book Day 2020
MHC weeekly bulletins are a great way to keep up to date on activities at Mary Help! Information on prayer groups, parish organizations, fundraisers and our many ministries can be found in ourweekly bulletin. The Foodbank Mission – The Foodbank relieves hunger in the community through a network of partner agencies by acquiring and distributing food. The Foodbank brings food, comfort and hope to hungry families in the Dayton area.
If you are donating furniture or other large items and have them picked up, contact your local Amvet organization and ask them how they would like to arrange the pick-up. Furniture Bank is another excellent company for a donation pick-up. There are 34 states with Furniture Banks, so there is a good chance you can find a Furniture Bank location to pick up your furniture donations. You can find the local organization by doing an online search for Goodwill donation pick up. You can find information about pick-up options on their website. And if you have other types of donations, like clothing or appliances, you can drop them off at any Goodwill drop-off in the area.
You can give cash, appreciated stocks, real estate, or other assets. St. Vincent de Paul locations also seek donations of small kitchen appliances, such as toasters, blenders, mixers, electric griddles and slow-cookers. Spatulas, mixing spoons, whisks, measuring cups and other kitchen tools are also accepted. Additionally, arts and crafts items, board games, figurines and baskets are all approved for donation. Mother Teresa Women’s University, in Kodaikanal, was established in 1984 as a public university by the government of Tamil Nadu.
Seachtain na Gaeilge will take place in our school the week of March 22nd to 25th. As always there is a great array of activities which focus on the spoken language throughout the day. Thanks again to Ms. Kenneally for organising this annual event ….. Home Visitations are carried out by ‘members’ who join local groups called ‘conferences’. Conference members are volunteers who meet regularly to provide mutual support, spiritual reflection and to discuss how best to respond to the people they assist. This decision to temporarily adapt our services this way is not one that Vinnies Victoria has taken lightly, but everyone’s safety is paramount in our minds.

Those less fortunate families will appreciate getting donations from a charity that can supply a bed for their child to sleep in. Furniture donation with pick-up can happen effortlessly if a Furniture Bank is near your location.
Ms. Naughton’s Junior Infants joined the World Book Day crew in O’Mahony’s Bookshop for a robotic event celebrating Robots and Books … Thank you to our teacher Mrs O’Mahoney for organising this annual event in our school. It’s such a shame that they didn’t get to showcase it, but we are so proud of all our 6th class pupils. A big ‘bualadh bos’ to you all, you should be so proud of yourselves.
