Who We Are
The American Cancer Society, Alabama Division is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. We have been serving the state of Alabama for over 100 years, providing support to cancer patients and their families, funding groundbreaking research, and advocating for policies that help prevent cancer.
What We Do
Our mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. We do this by:

– Helping to reduce the overall cancer death rate by 29% since 1991
– Funding over $4.9 billion in cancer research since 1946
– Providing over 1 million rides to cancer patients through our Road To Recovery program
– Offering free lodging to over 70,000 cancer patients and their families through our Hope Lodge program
– Advocating for policies that have helped increase access to cancer screenings and treatments
